An Inaugural event “Consumer Product, Retail & Fashion Connect” for India Chapter was hosted by McKinsol Consulting Inc., a premier SAP Silver Partner for S/4 Fashion & Retail and NeuVays a company that offers Geo-Location based a comprehensive Retailer’s Promotion Platform with Mobile Application “SPOT” ( Event was held at Habitat Centre, Indirapuram on 20th December 2019.

Goal of the event was to provide a platform to executives, professionals and owners of startups to network and connect informally & formally to exchange information and grow together. This platform also allows leaders to volunteer mentoring of mid-career and young professionals to grow in their career. Event hosted Panel Discussions on latest technology trends and innovation on “Value Proposition in Retail”

Niranjan Pandit, Senior Vice President did a welcome address. Anurag Varshney, President & CEO, McKinsol Consulting Inc., in his inaugural address highlighted the importance of the concept, its conceptualization and shared his experience of a similar event conducted earlier in New Jersey, USA.

The discussions were lively and insightful and focused on the Challenges in Retail Industry with propositions for value additions in different areas. Topics covered were generating footfalls in Retail Stores, Role of Digital Technology, particularly AI and ML, in boosting Sales, Bridging the challenges of Brick and Mortar stores and Internet-based sales through technology, Understanding regional preferences and designing Retail solutions for such variations.

While discussing footfall, Mr. Keith McLarnon stressed on the need for the sales staff to have a sense of ownership of the business and establish a connect with the consumers to take advantage of footfall. Mr. Saurabh Dayal stressed on strategy for footfall based on product category and density of population, whereas Mr. Anurag highlighted on consumers getting lesser time for purchases.

On the technology front, Mr. Saurabh Dayal emphasized on how business margins can be increased by proper use of technology. Mr. Ravindra Pandey articulated on how technology can help to increase sales by understanding consumer behavioral patterns. Mr. Keith opined on value additions through digital technology. Mr. Anurag exemplified how the right choice of products to selective customers becomes a technological advantage.

During discussions on bridging the challenges between Brick & Mortar stores and technology, Mr. Anurag Varshney explained how technology will be driving business decisions in coming days. To add value proposition, Mr. Keith McLarnon professed that “consulting” in footfall may be a new business as well. Mr. Saurabh Dayal shared an anomaly that in India on-line business are starting retailing through stores and vice versa.

Mr. Ravindra Pandey detailed his experiences in doing a proper research on products, market segments and learning from Lessons, that is how he was able to turn around his challenging products into success. Product availability through all organized retail platforms, micro level marketing, outlet locations have helped Mr. Ravindra Pandey increase their branding in spite of any big budget advertising.
